Reflecting on my childhood in Old School Oakland, I realize just how much this vibrant neighborhood shaped who I am today. From the days of playing by the creek to the stories we shared with our friends, everything about Oakland felt unique. It wasn’t just the neighborhood—it was the people. From 1954 to 1991, Oakland was a melting pot of cultures, a place where everyone had a role to play in shaping its character.

The town was alive with energy—people from all walks of life came together to create something special. Whether it was the old-school charm of the local barbershop, the community gatherings, or the countless hours spent playing in the streets, these moments shaped a part of my soul. And while Oakland has changed in many ways since then, I carry those memories with me wherever I go. I learned that life isn’t about the things we own but about the people we meet and the experiences we share.
